October 9 Dev Log - Evan

This week was another simple week. I was fighting off a sickness for most of it, slowing down my progress, but I managed to wrap up an initial sketch for the level. I wanted to incorporate a series of stage hazards and other types of terrain that would fit in with the factory theme of the test level, leading me to incorporating hydraulic crushers, sharp junk piles, and conveyor belts. This wraps up the initial planning of the test level, which will naturally be adjusted as we refine the player character and enemies.

One thing I'm disappointed about is I didn't have the opportunity to start polishing up the UI like I had initially wanted to. All the same, I'll have a window during class today to not only do that, but also get a good feel for the resolution the rest of the artists are going for so I can stay in line with them.

My plan for the next two weeks is to start working with the other programmers to begin designing and incorporating scripts into the player controller, UI, and terrain.
